WHS Choirs are a crucial component of the Graduation Ceremony, as we perform with the Westwood Symphony Orchestra.

Dress is concert black. If unsure, ask a director.

2025 Graduation Rehearsals Information, Itinerary and Performance Order

Rehearsal:

  • Wednesday, May 21, 1:45-2:30pm, combined full orchestra and choir

Graduation Day Itinerary

  • 1:00 pm – Seniors release to Field House to sit in order. Once done, return to Choir Room.
  • 1:30 pm – Load buses (seniors, you will ride with us, not with the senior class, to the HEB Center)
  • 1:45 pm – Departure
  • 3:45 AM – Prelude music begins
  • 4:00 PM – Graduation begins!
    • DURING the event, once we have sung Homeland, you can head to the concession area for food or snacks. 
  • 6:30 PM – Approximate departure time.

Ceremony

Pomp and Circumstance (no seniors)

  • Seniors will march in with their class, step out of formation and return to the choir/orchestra area  
  • Be sure to tell the people before you and after you in the line to save your chair!

Star Spangled Banner

  • Seniors on the first row, arranged in parts for Homeland
  • Sing SSB UNISON with orchestra

Homeland

  • after Homeland, seniors return to their class

Alma Mater

  • no seniors
  • wait for senior class to dismiss, then exit through tunnel
