Choir Camp 2024
Tuesday, September 3, 2024
4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
We’re a choir of traditions, and at Choir Camp, we begin to pass those ideals on to our newest members. Choir Camp is a chance form meaningful connections with your fellow choir members and learn what makes Westwood Choirs so unique. From fun games and food, to music learning and mentorship, we have tons of activities planned for this year’s Choir Camp to get you excited about the school year ahead.
Agenda
4:30 – 4:45 – Choir Members Arrive
4:30 – 4:45 – Welcome to Choir Camp and Officer Introductions
4:45 – 5:15 – Camp Games
Our choir officers have spent a lot of time preparing a school-wide scavenger hunt featuring iconic Westwood locations. We’ll split off into our family groups and spend some time running around the halls (but not actually running!!) in search of these hidden locations. Also, we bring a few new games to choir camp this year…
5:15 – 6:00 – National Anthem/The Lord Bless You and Keep You/Ay Ay Ay
Westwood Choirs has a tradition of learning two songs that are sung throughout the year: The Lord Bless You and Keep You and Ay Ay Ay. After every choir concert, we sing The Lord Bless You and Keep You as a tribute to our current seniors and honorary choir members, inviting those who have been through the Westwood Choirs program to stand on stage and hold hands with our seniors.
5:50-6:20 – Refueling
It’s never Choir Camp without the food! Every year, we order pizza and make s’mores bars to celebrate coming together as a group for the first time. This year, we’ll also feature the seniors who signed up for choir nobility during homecoming.
6:30 – Singing the National Anthem for the Varsity Volleyball Match
2024 Choir Families
For Choir Camp, every member of Westwood Choirs is divided up into color groups that act as your “family” for the day. Please see the following spreadsheet to view which color group you’re in. If you’re feeling extra festive, be sure to wear the color corresponding to your color group on the day of!
Choir Families are an extension of the Bigs and Littles groupings. Today will be the big reveal!
