Important Booster Info (Savan Kotecha Applications)
Dear Westwood Choir Families —
Welcome to the choir program for the 2019-2020 school year!
We hope that you will take the time to join the booster club today! There are three ways to join:
- You can sign up in the store in TeamApp. Go to www.teamapp.com and search for Westwood Choirs. Let us know if you need help with access to the app.
- You can use the Google Form (Click Here for the Form) and we can send a Square invoice so you can pay online. Or…
- You can complete the form sent home in your Welcome Packet – and send the form and check to the school or bring it to the Meet & Greet next Thursday night.
Please join us at the Meet & Greet at the Choir Room on Thursday, August 29th at 6:30pm. We will provide light refreshments, introduce student officers and booster club volunteers – and it gives us a chance to welcome everyone back for another fun year! We are looking for 4-5 freshman, sophomore, and junior boosters to serve on our scholarship committee, since most of last year’s committee members are now “senior” parents. Send a note to boosterboard@
Scholarship News – Savan Kotecha, a Westwood High School graduate who has gone on to write some pretty amazing songs for popular artists, has continued to support the Westwood Choir Program for several years by providing merit-based voice lesson scholarships. He is providing 9 – $500 voice lesson scholarships to choir students who are committed to improving their vocal skills and plan to participate in TMEA and/or Solo & Ensemble contests during the 2019-2020 school year.
These awards do not generally cover 100% of lesson costs for the school year, but they do help supplement the cost of voice lessons. The application deadline is Thursday, August 29, 2019. No late applications will be accepted. (Click Here for the Online Form – Savan Voice Lesson Scholarship).
If you are selected to receive a Savan Voice Lesson Scholarship, you will receive an email from the booster board with instructions for the distribution.
Please include an email address that is not a RRISD student account. We are not able to send email to RRISD student accounts.
If you would like more information about other voice lesson scholarships that may be available, please Click Here for RRISD Lesson Information. Complete the form on that page (Click Here for the Music Instruction Financial Aid Form) and return it to Mr. Clark. The booster club provides funds to help support the program voice coaches based on the success of our fundraising activities for the year.
We look forward to seeing you at the Meet & Greet and hope that you will help us make this the best year for ALL choir students!
